Thank You for Being Born
On a warm spring morning, Olivia felt a little restless.
Today was a special day.
Her mother was about to give birth to the baby growing in her belly.
“Olivia, we’re going to the hospital where the baby will be born,” her father said.
Olivia left the house with a fluttering heart.
After arriving at the hospital and waiting for a while, they finally heard the sound of a baby crying.
“Olivia, your little sister is born,” her father said with a big smile.
Her mother, holding the baby in her arms, gently called out, “Olivia, come meet her.”
Olivia stared at her tiny sister and whispered, “Was I this small too?”
That night, back at home, Olivia asked her parents, “When I was a baby, were you happy?”
Her mother smiled and gently hugged Olivia.
“Of course. When you were born, we were overjoyed.
The first time we saw your face—so small, so warm—we felt that such a precious life had joined our family.”
Her father nodded and added,
“When you smiled for the first time, we celebrated together.
Every part of your growth has been a treasure to us.”
Olivia felt her heart warm with their words.
Looking at her little sister’s sleeping face, she thought,
“I want to be a special big sister for her too.”
